For the production, coburg's new artistic director bernhard F. Loges die jungen guest director philipp westerbarkei from dusseldorf engaged. The conductor was coburg's first kapellmeister johannes braun, who presented his first own rehearsal of a mozart opera. Last season, braun had already staged the revival of mozart's "hochzeit des figaro" directed.
The stage and costumes of the new production were designed by tatjana ivschina, who made her first guest appearance at the landestheater.
The cast list included numerous newly engaged young soloists. The queen of the night was sung by greek soprano dimitra kotidou, sarastro by bass bartosz araszkiewicz, the role of pamina by laura incko, tamino by peter aisher.
The chorus of the landestheater sang for the first time in the rehearsal of the new chorus director mikko sidoroff.
