After the change in the school management of the egbert-gymnasium, five other deserving padagogues are now retiring after director robert scheller. For decades, they helped shape egbert-gymnasium: mathematics and physics teacher dieter horning joined the staff of munsterschwarzach abbey in september 1983. He worried about lesson plans and worked as a math tutor for 29 years. For the recognition of egbert-gymnasium as a MINT-friendly school, he developed activities, competitions, exhibitions and publications.
Beekeepers group founded
One year earlier, in 1982, viktor riedel-roye came to the school of the benedictine monks. For nine years he was the supervisor of the geography department and for 26 years he was the supervisor of the college level. Later he took over the tasks of the upper school coordinator. He led study trips to poland and iceland. In 1986 he founded the beekeepers’ group and led it until february 2019. Together with the schoolchildren, he was committed to the protection of the environment and species. In addition, delicious honey products were made, and later candles and creams.
Generations of schoolchildren have come to know and appreciate peter olschina as a specialist teacher at the school theater. He has been responsible for many performances, including the staging of the "nibelungen" on the open-air stage. For the "georg hafner – a decision" project, commissioned by the diocese for georg hafner’s beatification, peter olschina created the text basis. As a supervisor for religion, pastoral care was a special concern for him. Orientation for career decision
Gerhard fischer, specialist for economics, law and sports has been a member of the teaching staff since 1981. As a guidance counselor for more than three decades, he gave schools guidance on career choices. His organizational talent at various events such as skiing courses, federal youth games, youth trains for olympia, borsenspiel or company internship brought him high recognition in the college and among the schoolchildren. In the school sports club "DJK egbert-gymnasium" he is a member of the executive board and held the office of treasurer for many years. As a member and chairman of the employee representative committee, he helped shape school life.
With martin sauer, another "athlete" retires after 36 years at the EGM. His organizational and innovative skills qualified him for the position of technical advisor, an office he held for 24 years . At gymnastics evenings he moderated the events. Rough successes are achieved with the competition team "gymnastics", among others on the bavarian level. At numerous concerts he strengthened the string orchestra with his violin. In addition to his teaching commitment, he regularly made himself available for "first aid courses" within the school and for many years led study trips to italian centers such as sorrento, rome, florence or to lake garda, destinations that martin sauer as a latin teacher appreciated very much.
