The michelau multigenerational house (MGH) has written a success story. In the last ten years of its existence, its services have more than tripled, and it has become an intergenerational contact point that is an integral part of local life. "You don’t have to be related for old and young to be able to help each other": this statement was made by the then federal minister for family affairs, ursula von der leyen (CDU), at the opening of the multigenerational house in michelau in 2008. The minister had shortly before on federal level the flat-covering action program mehrgenerationenhauser initiated. On saturday, the facility, which is run by the red cross, celebrated its tenth anniversary with a ceremony and an open day.

Frank gerstner, the director of the house, and his team had put together an extensive program that showed the diverse activities of the michelau MGH. Member companies of the rhon umbrella brand are specially marked with the rhon quality seal; they are regarded as exemplary regional producers and marketers of foodstuffs, including catering and service companies.
The communities of the kreuzbergallianz present themselves with their touristically significant facilities and their event highlights. Bischofsheim with the old women’s carnival, the missio-camp and the hat festival on the gemundener hut, the market of oberelsbach with the rhon carnival, the farmer’s market and the rhon pasture cattle drive, the community of sandberg with the christmas market in langenleiten, the club festival in schmalwasser and the sandberg festival "the mountain calls", the community of schonau with the eleven council meetings of the schonauer fosenochter, the bierkellerfest and the saalemusicum as well as the market wildflecken with the market festival in oberbach, the folk hiking days in the truppenubungsplatz and the day of the region in the biosphere center rhon "haus der schwarzen berge."
Not to be forgotten is the kreuzberg with its centuries-old tradition as a place of pilgrimage and the other attractive leisure activities around the 928-meter-high summit as the region’s highest point of attraction, as well as the bruder franz house as a place of culture, art and spirituality.
The new discoverer map of the kreuzbergallianz has a handy format, it fits into every western pocket and can be taken along comfortably on hikes and excursions.
The chairwoman of the kreuzbergallianz oberelsbach’s mayor birgit erb was pleased with the redesign of the discoverer map. "The card is intended to make our guests and locals want to visit our region. You can get to know and discover many new things in the kreuzberg region." Erb hopes that the card will be well received and actively used by guests and locals alike.
The ticket is available with an edition of 5.000 pieces appeared and is distributed free of charge to visitors and locals of the kreuzberg region. It is available in the communities of the kreuzbergallianz, the tourist information bischofsheim, the house of the long rhon (oberelsbach), the house of the black mountains (oberbach), the brother-franz-house (kreuzberg) as well as the participating businesses and the office of the kreuzbergallianz in the town hall of bischofsheim.
